MEET DR BHARGAVA

INTRODUCTION

Dr Kapil Bhargava BSc, MBBS, FRCP(UK), FRCP(Derm), CCT (Derm) is a distinguished Consultant Dermatologist and Fellowship trained Mohs and dermatologic surgeon. He is a recognised expert in skin cancer, Mohs surgery and surgical and laser dermatology, hair disorders and cosmetic dermatology. He is a member of many professional organisations and has received multiple awards for his work.

He is the Lead Clinician for skin cancer and Mohs surgery at St Bartholomew's and The Royal London Hospitals, the UK's largest NHS Hospital Trust. He founded and established the Mohs micrographic surgery service after his appointment and leads the skin cancer MDT.

He is an expert in hair and scalp disorders and manages patients referred by other dermatologists across the country, at the specialist Hair Clinic at St John's Institute of Dermatology.

Along side his clinic work, Dr Bhargava continues to author scientific papers and book chapters, including the hair and scalp chapter in the ubiquitous ABC of Dermatology series and in Rook's Textbook of Dermatology, the reference text for Dermatology

He lectures nationally and internationally and is actively involved in the teaching and training of senior doctors training to be Consultant Dermatologists

EXTENSIVE TRAINING

Dr Bhargava was educated in London, before commencing medical training at University College London Medical School in 1997. He completed a BSc in Tumour Biology and following graduation undertook general medical training at University College London Hospitals and Guy's and St Thomas, culminating in Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK).

He trained in Dermatology at the renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology in all aspects of general and specialist Dermatology and was awarded CCT(Dermatology) by the General Medical Council (GMC). He is on the GMC specialist register for Dermatology.

Subsequently he completed a prestigious Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) approved post-CCT Fellowship in Mohs and Advanced Dermatologic Surgery.

He has undertaken further training in prestigious centres in the United States and continental Europe and incorporates the best of these techniques within his UK practice. He continues to actively seek out opportunities to collaborate with leading colleagues across the globe.

Kapil is actively involved in the teaching and training of Dermatology specialist trainees, GPs and medical students. In addition he is a regular invited speaker and trainer on his areas of expertise.
